July Stamp of the Month and Watercolor Technique

Using the Happy Forever stamp set (July's Stamp of the Month), I created this fun card using a Watercolor technique.  Supplies needed:
Happy Forever Stamp Set (or any line drawing image)
Acrylic Block
Bamboo Ink
Watercolor Pencils
Blending Pen

First, take desired line image from your stamp set and position it on your acrylic block for stamping.

Then, using Bamboo ink, stamp image on white cardstock.  Bamboo is used because of it's light color and ability to "disappear" once image is colored in.
Next, choose desired pencil colors from the Watercolor Pencils collection and outline your image.  You may also choose to color in where the image might have natural shading for a darker colored finished image.

Once your image is outlined and shaded, use your Watercolor Brush to fill the image in.  Be careful not to get the paper too wet as the paper will pill.  I always squeeze the brush until a drop of water appears and then brush a few strokes on a spare piece of paper.  Also do this between colors to avoid mixing them up on your image.

Finally, using your MicroTip Scissors, trim your image and adhere to your artwork.
Voila!  What looks to be a handrawn watercolor image!
