Second Post For Triple Play.. A Scrapbook Layout

Remember how the other day I mentioned thinking outside the box?  This is an example of what I meant.  Even though the Triple Play kit provides everything needed to make 3 fabulous mini albums, (paper, stamps, ink, die cuts, ribbon and full-color instructions!!!) it also provides most everything for a layout page, too!  (I had to add the base cardstock for the 12x12 pages of course)  So here it is, and I hope you like it.  The only other addition was the large title with which I used the Rustic Alphabet Stamp Set (which is on the RETIRED LIST!  sob, sob) to make the letters.  It has been my favorite and will not be selling it off later!  So hurry up and get your own before December 31st!
Anyway, I digress; enjoy the rest of the layout and remember that you too can make fun projects like these for just $5!!  But only until September 30 or WHILE SUPPLIES LAST!  Do your shopping here, on my website or contact me for more deets!  (You can always click directly on any photo, by the way, to see it larger.)

*I added a Flip Flap here for some extra photos plus I just love the interactive element to my pages; it really adds something!

A Difficult Day..

Today I received news that a close and longtime family friend has lost her battle with cancer.

With being on the phone and making last minute arrangements, my creative juices began to ebb and posting the second installment of the Triple Play will have to wait.  Please excuse my tardiness.  Please put our friend Louise and her loving husband, Bob, in all your prayers as this is a very rough time for him and his family.  Thank you.

July Stamp of the Month and Watercolor Technique

Using the Happy Forever stamp set (July's Stamp of the Month), I created this fun card using a Watercolor technique.  Supplies needed:
Happy Forever Stamp Set (or any line drawing image)
Acrylic Block
Bamboo Ink
Watercolor Pencils
Blending Pen

First, take desired line image from your stamp set and position it on your acrylic block for stamping.

Then, using Bamboo ink, stamp image on white cardstock.  Bamboo is used because of it's light color and ability to "disappear" once image is colored in.
Next, choose desired pencil colors from the Watercolor Pencils collection and outline your image.  You may also choose to color in where the image might have natural shading for a darker colored finished image.

Once your image is outlined and shaded, use your Watercolor Brush to fill the image in.  Be careful not to get the paper too wet as the paper will pill.  I always squeeze the brush until a drop of water appears and then brush a few strokes on a spare piece of paper.  Also do this between colors to avoid mixing them up on your image.

Finally, using your MicroTip Scissors, trim your image and adhere to your artwork.
Voila!  What looks to be a handrawn watercolor image!
